On almost every Sunday we organise a group walk somewhere in Dorset, or sometimes in nearby parts of Devon, Hampshire, Somerset and Wiltshire. There is always a morning walk which normally starts at 10.15 and often a shorter afternoon walk. Walks are planned as either circular, or “figure of eight” routes and distances (for the day) vary between about 5 to 12 miles. We walk for the simple pleasure and enjoyment of being out and about in this wonderful countryside. Accordingly, we walk a moderate pace with stops to appreciate our surroundings. Lunch stops are often arranged at a cafe or pub, or sometimes a picnic stop is made en-route.
See the Programme page for information about future walks.
These include occasional Quiz Walks and outings to various events and places of interest such as gardens and the coast. There are occasional Summer barb-e-ques and always a Christmas Dinner Party. The Club also arranges occasional longer walks over several days (such as along The Dorset Ridgeway Path , The Coleridge Way and other recognised National Trails. It also has links with the Holiday Fellowship (HF) which organises longer walking holidays in the UK and abroad.
