Sturminster Newton Walk 29 September

The walk started in Sturminster Newton car park with 10 walkers attending. The route took in a disused railway line and onto Fiddleford Mill, then up into Piddles Wood, passing a field of large sunflowers. The group continued back into the town via Broadoak, stopping for Lunch at the Swan Inn. 5 walkers took a gentle afternoon walk down to Sturminster Mill for tea or coffee before walking back into town. Distances - a.m. 5 miles, p.m 1.5 miles.      See full story...

Sika Trail, Wareham 22 September 2019

Nine hardy Dorset Rambliers turned up to walk the lovely wooded heath, river valley and harbourside paths around Wareham on Sunday. This was a good turnout considering the dire weather forecast (which included a weather warning no less) – severe gales and thundery showers between longer periods of heavy rain – or words to that effect! Affpuddle Walk 25 August

If you intend to walk on 25th August Sue and Dave would really like to know numbers for the lunch stop at Moreton tea rooms. It’s a Bank Holiday weekend so they want to ensure that everyone who wants a meal in the lovely old school rooms there has a firm booking. Their website warns that booked tables take priority and they ‘reserve the right not to serve walk-in parties at our busiest periods’. So please contact Sue and Dave if you intend to walk.      See full story...

Walk Sunday 4 November

On a wet but relatively warm November morning 10 hardy souls set out from Tarrant Gunville Farm for a walk on the Cranborne Chase. We set a good pace as it wasn't a day for hanging around but the rain didn't stop our chatter and enjoyment of the walk, ably lead by Rosie. An excellent and cosy lunch at the farm cafe was welcomed at the end of the morning. Whilst the views weren't as spectacular as they on a clear sunny day, the mist and rain cast there own spell.      See full story...
