Ringstead Walk - Sunday 15th September

Under Blue skies and warm sun, 8 members had an excellent, if at times challenging circular walk, above and on the Coast path from Ringstead to Scratchy Bottom and back via well-deserved convivial snacks/picnic at Ringstead Beach Café.      See full story...

Affpuddle Walk 25 August

If you intend to walk on 25th August Sue and Dave would really like to know numbers for the lunch stop at Moreton tea rooms. It’s a Bank Holiday weekend so they want to ensure that everyone who wants a meal in the lovely old school rooms there has a firm booking. Their website warns that booked tables take priority and they ‘reserve the right not to serve walk-in parties at our busiest periods’. Walk Hod & Hambledon Hills 04 August 2019

On Sunday 4 August 10 members met in Stourpaine for a hike by the River Iwerne, then over Hod and Hambledon hills and down to Shroton where we enjoyed an excellent pub lunch at The Cricketers before returning to Stourpaine. Walking weather was just right with light cloud, a gentle breeze and lots of butterflies and bees . A good day enjoyed by all.      See full story...

Tiverton Canal Horse Drawn Barge Trip

This event had to be cancelled because of poor weather in Sept 2018 but has now been rescheduled for Sunday 8 September. We will meet at the canal basin (directions on separate sheet) at 10 am for a very pleasant 4.8 mile walk with views (there is a hill) and along the canal.      See full story...

Summer Outing 7 July 2019

Our summer outing this year will be to Otterton on Sunday 7th July. June this year seems to be a very busy month; most of the committee have holidays, Open Gardens, examining etc. so the summer outing has been put back until the first Sunday in July.      See full story...

Walk Sunday 4 November

On a wet but relatively warm November morning 10 hardy souls set out from Tarrant Gunville Farm for a walk on the Cranborne Chase. We set a good pace as it wasn't a day for hanging around but the rain didn't stop our chatter and enjoyment of the walk, ably lead by Rosie. An excellent and cosy lunch at the farm cafe was welcomed at the end of the morning. Whilst the views weren't as spectacular as they on a clear sunny day, the mist and rain cast there own spell.      See full story...
