This is an exciting opportunity to combine a led walk with a visit to Sculpture by the Lakes, a unique outdoor art venue at Pallington, near Dorchester, organised by Rita & Angie.
Meet: for 10.15 at Affpuddle Car Park – directions as follows;
From A35 take B3390. Follow the road around a left hand bend and continue around a right hand bend Take first left and car park is immediately on the right.
Walk: will be morning only, around 7 miles.
Lunch: options of picnic at car park, short drive to Golf Club or cafe at Pallington Lakes Sculpture Park. The cafe offers seasonal menu made by head chef Duncan Watts sourced directly from own kitchen garden.
Afternoon visit to Sculpture by the Lakes.
Directions: to Pallington Sculpture Park; Turn left out of Affpuddle car park and left onto B3390 (Waddock Drove) At cross roads (Waddock Cross) turn right to Pallington Sculpture park – on left past Pallington Farm. Entry is £10.00.
Described as ‘A Haven of Peace and Tranquility’ the sculpture park is set in 26 acres alongside River Frome. It was started in 2008 and showcases the work of sculptor Simon Gudgeon. His wife Monique has created a modern garden inspired by many different sources. There is an excellent cafe serving lunches and teas.
