Here’s something different! A social event for our walkers and non-walkers alike. JHG jigsaws Limited is one of the UK’s few remaining jigsaw manufacturers. It is based in converted farm premises here in Dorset. JHG Jigsaws Ltd was started in 1997 with just 20 images. In 2002 it expanded and increased the range to over 150 puzzles, specialising in nature and wildlife.
In 2008 the company made the decision to go in to manufacturing in its own right, setting up in a converted dairy barn in Dorset, on the edge of Ashmore village. It now has over 400 images on its range of Jigsaw puzzles in all shapes and sizes and styles. These are all made in- house, using eco-friendly materials and sourcing raw materials in the UK where ever possible. They sell in the UK and have a thriving export business, selling worldwide.
As well as their own range, they manufacture for a number of prestigious customers including Sandringham House and The Injured Jockeys Fund. “No order is too small or too big and we make one off personal puzzles as well as bespoke short runs for shops and businesses.”
There will be a 1-hour tour starting at 2.30 pm which will be followed by home-made cakes and tea. The cost will be £8.50 per head and is to be paid by cash on the day. They regret not being able to accept card or cheques.
For those who know or do not know the area already there are some lovely woodland walking routes around Ashmore . So in the morning there will be a 4.3 miles approx. walk starting at 10.30 am followed by a picnic lunch at 1.30 pm by Ashmore Village pond at which time non-walkers can join the group prior to the social visit.
Free Parking for all is at the Factory Unit 3 South Farm yard/Noade Street, Salisbury SP5 5AA
