Sunday 23 September 2018. Most people seemed to prefer weekends for this, so I have stuck to our normal Sunday and chosen the afternoon option of 2 ½ hrs on the barge. I have booked the school minibus for anyone who would like to take advantage of travelling to Tiverton in this way. I hope to offer a morning walk for those that would like to do so, but you could also just potter around the boatyard until lunch or we might all visit Knighsthayes, the National Trust property which is very close by. Lunch has been booked at the Canal Tea Rooms and Garden* and we must be at the barge for 1.15. Taking this trip up the canal does mean that we will not finish until 4.45 but I hope you will see this as a delightful way of spending an afternoon and plan accordingly. If you come independently, it will be fine to join us at lunchtime and do the barge only.
Costs; Car parking at Tiverton wharf is £3 all day.
Canal barge is £13 or £12.40 if we are 15+
plus lunch if required – see separate sheet for this, plus contribution towards petrol for minibus.
Please fill in slip enclosed with Newsletter and return to Jenny by Friday 31 August
*See separate sheet (also with newsletter) for brief description of barge, outline of day and lunch menu.
