The date for this summer outing was announced in the last newsletter; now it is time to secure your place on this exciting day by returning the form below with a deposit of £16 to James E. by Mon 12 Feb. Please be aware that in order to ensure a full coach and keep costs down I have offered this visit to my U3A art groups and will be asking for their slips and deposits from 15 February; once this has been requested I cannot guarantee places will be left for Dorset Ramblers. Kelmscott is not open to the public on Thursdays – that is their day for group visits. Indeed, they only take one group per am / pm so we will have it to ourselves, and the nearby National Trust property of Buscot Park does not open until 2pm so it works out very neatly! In the interests of space, I have described both properties in a separate document. Please see attached / enclosed.
Outline of the day as follows, all times to be confirmed;
08.00 approx coach leaves Sherborne, pick up if desired at Willoughby Hedge, nr Hindon
10.45 approx arrive Kelmscott, tea, coffee and biscuits provided. We will be given an
11.00 introductory talk, after which we take a
11.30 ‘freeflow’ visit, where we can see the house and all its arts and crafts furnishing designs at our own pace. Groups of 12-15 are ‘filtered’ into the house, whilst waiting the remaining people are told about garden.
12.30 /12.45 Ploughman’s lunch available in tearoom, choice of ham, stilton, cheddar or brie on day. Seating is available on tea lawn as well as inside. Visit shop, and garden, which is not large.
