Brownsea Island, walk with Dorset Wildlife Trust - Sunday 8 October 2017.

It is some time since we last visited Brownsea and Jenny N has been in touch with the Dorset Wildlife Trust, who will guide us through their reserve. We will be able to go into some of the hides and look for any lingering summer breeds and over wintering birds (spoonbills, avocets etc) on the lagoon. We might spot a few red squirrels. The boat journey is always enjoyable - 10.30 from Poole Quay for an 11am walk, lasting about 1½ hrs. In order to qualify for a discount we need to book places on the boats and the landing fee in advance so please fill in the slip to help plan the day. More details on next programme but estimated cost will be £13.50 (boat and DWT walk) plus landing charge if not a NT member, parking / possible lift in minibus (tbc). Lunch could be picnic, NT cafe on Brownsea, or recently recced excellent value modern Italian restaurant overlooking the harbour called CHAT. Slips to be returned by 18 Sept.
