Next year’s summer outing is being planned now and we are very excited about it! Cothay Manor is a historic manor house built in 1485 – very few houses in England remain so evocatively medieval. The gardens are a delight and we hope to be given a tour by the owner, Mary-Anne Robb. Cothay is on the Devon / Somerset border, near Wellington and we will visit Cothay together as a group, taking a tour of the house as well as garden.

A walk will be arranged nearby and non walkers will be offered an alternative visit. This is likely to be a Saturday as the gardens are open to the public on Sundays and we would like the place to ourselves! As soon as this date is confirmed we will let you know. We are likely to offer places to the Horticulture society (Sturminster) and to members of Sherborne U3A in order to fill a coach so early booking advised – details of day and booking slip will be in January’s newsletter
