Summer Outing to Heddon Valley - Sunday 12 June 2016

In the end we were pretty lucky with the weather – I gather there were several downpours around the Sherborne area but we just had a bit of damp mist and then it seemed to clear. Both groups (the walkers with Jenny N on the higher old carriageway to Woody Bay and back via the lower coastal path) and those that Tim drove to the Valley of the Rocks then walked to Lynton where they took the cliff railway to Lynmouth and had time for coffee etc. had a really good time and were able to experience that very special coastal scenery of North Devon/Somerset. We joined forces for a good lunch at the Hunters Inn and then stayed together for the relatively easy walk down to Heddon’s Mouth – a very special cove to which I was so glad to introduce so many of you. Thanks you once again for being such a lovely group and for my Puffin tray! Finances are being worked out now but it may be that we are able to credit you with a few pounds.
